Motorlight is the world’s first variable angle uplight, enabling both designers and consumers to vary light angles to suit different environments and needs – from ambient lighting to spot lighting. Both Motorlight Floor and Motorlight Wall can be set to a precise angle of light or can be activated to cycle through continually adjusting angles to enhance the mood of an environment. This variable of light offers you the option to experiment and achieve the exact angle of light for a given situation. The effect of continually cycling the angle of light can be likened to “active” mood lighting. Available in black, blue, red, white and clear.
In 2003 Jake Dyson established the Jake Dyson Studio in Crawford Passage, Clerkenwell, recruited two design engineers and over the next two years focused on developing the world’s first variable angle uplight and introduced Motorlight Floor in the U.K. In September 2008 he launched Motorlight Wall, which offers additional functionality and versatility in creating mood lighting for residential or commercial environments. Derived from Jake Dyson’s belief that function and form go hand in hand, Motorlight is a striking modernist design that would work well in many styles of interiors - whether minimal, clean and futuristic or retro chic. Even when it is not illuminated, the sleek lines, strong colors and tactile materials create an eye-catching sculptural form. A third addition to the Motorlight family is currently in development.
